Jon Moxley is geared up to take on Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title at NJPW Windy City Riot tonight.
Speaking to Road To, Moxley shared his thought process ahead of the bout (per Fightful).
“Shots at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship don’t come around every day. Even if I win, it’s not going to matter.
“I’ll be the most overlooked, disrespected, forgotten about, taken for granted wrestler in the history of this business. It’s not going to matter, but it means something to me,”
“I’ve been doing this since I was 19. Since the first championship I ever won. I see the mountain, I climb the mountain. Everybody standing next to me looks up and says it’s too high. ‘You’re not going to do that, you can’t do that.’ I say, ‘Watch me.’
“Then, I find a higher one, and I climb that. Then, I find a higher one, and I climb that, and a higher one. Now, I’m about to do something that nobody in the history of pro wrestling has ever done.”
