Matt Cardona Expected To Undergo Surgery

AEW

Unfortunately, Matt Cardona finds himself on the sidelines.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp noted on X that several promoters were told that the former WWE star is sidelined with a torn pectoral muscle injury. He had been slated to work for wXw Germany in June at their Drive of Champions show.

However, the promotion tweeted that Cardona informed them he’s out of action. He will be getting surgery for it.

Since his WWE departure in 2020, Cardona has found a ton of success working for various promotions, including a recent AEW appearance last month on Collision, during which he challenged Adam Copeland for the TNT Championship.

We wish him a speedy recovery.
