Swerve Strickland Thinks AEW Can Start Team Building With New Wrestlers

AEW

During the AEW Dynasty media scrum, Swerve Strickland shared his thoughts on the influx of new talent joining AEW and discussed his plan for securing his position within the company.

Strickland won the AEW World Heavyweight Title from Samoa Joe at AEW Dynasty. He said,

“Huge. It’s easy to find ways to feel like that’s a threat to you guys, to us, to the locker room. It’s an easy way, but it’s just like, ‘Alright, this is happening. We have to do something more. We have to push, create, innovate.’ We have to start really grinding our gears because this is a constantly moving. It’s a never ending Rubix cube, this industry is, and it will eat you alive if you can’t figure out one side of it. It will eat you alive trying to figure it out. These people coming in, these are people that maybe you want to build a team with. Maybe these are people that you don’t want to fight against. Maybe we can start building with them instead of looking at them as trying to beat them out. I look at things differently. There are others ways around it rather than the obvious of ‘this guy is coming to take my spot. This woman is coming to take her spot.’ Maybe there is another way and maybe AEW is offering that other way to get things done. Worth looking into.”
