Adam Copeland Started Talks With AEW The Day After His WWE Contract Expired

AEW

Adam Copeland didn’t waste much time joining AEW after his WWE deal expired in September 2023, as Copeland debuted for AEW at the inaugural WrestleDream event the following month.

On the Insight podcast, Copeland discussed the transition from WWE to AEW.

“It happened so quick. My contract with WWE was up on, I want to say September 21st. That’s when I started talking to Tony [Khan.] It was September 22nd. And WrestleDream was October 1st. So it all happened within a week.”

Copeland has since won the TNT Title and is slated to defend it against Kyle O’Reilly this Saturday on Collision.
