During the AEW Rampage taping on June 12th, one of the stars, Shota Umino, had an eye-opening experience. He had his first singles match for AEW against Rocky Romero, following his debut on AEW TV during the Casino Gauntlet on May 29th’s episode of Dynamite.
Originally, Umino was scheduled to participate in Sunday’s New Japan Soul event. However, he had to withdraw from the event due to an injury that has now been disclosed.
Taking to Twitter, he revealed that he suffered a fractured hip and is also dealing with a strained disc in his lower back. Despite these setbacks, he remains optimistic and believes he will recover in time to compete in G1 Climax 34 on July 20th.
