Mercedes Mone Wins NJPW Strong Women’s Title, Britt Baker Returns At Forbidden Door (Highlights)

AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone vs. NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer in a title-for-title bout was one of the top bouts booked on the card at the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024 pay-per-view event on Sunday night from the UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.

Mone was originally supposed to be the inaugural Strong Women’s Champion, but last summer had suffered an injury that resulted in her having surgery and called an audible for Willow Nightingale to win the title that night.

The bout saw Mone go over in a hard-fought battle to win the Strong Women’s Title. Britt Baker made her long-awaited return for a staredown with Mone after the match.
