The AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view event featured some highly anticipated matches at the UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.
AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone had a notable match against NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer, with Mone winning the title-for-title bout. After the match, Britt Baker made her return and had a staredown with Mone before leaving.
PWInsider.com reported that there was a lot of internal praise for the bout within AEW, especially for Vaquer’s strong performance. Mone reportedly wanted to “make” Stephanie in the bout.
