AEW Had Different Plan To Combat WWE SummerSlam Competition

AEW will be facing direct competition from WWE SummerSlam this Saturday with their pre-show, which they initially tried to avoid.

Collision will start earlier at 7 pm ET on TNT, with the show being taped on Thursday night at Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas. SummerSlam, on the other hand, will have a three-hour pre-show starting at 4 p.m. ET, followed by the main card at 7 p.m. ET.

Per Wrestling Observer Radio, they had to change their plans despite AEW’s original plan to air the show on Friday to steer clear of SummerSlam. Collision always struggles in ratings when going head-to-head with WWE, whether directly or airing after a WWE event earlier in the day.
