AEW Star Was Written Off TV In Case He Doesn’t Sign A New Contract

Daniel Garcia has been absent from AEW television since earlier this month after an incident on Dynamite. MJF attacked him, turning heel, right after Garcia lost to Will Ospreay for the AEW International Championship.

Ospreay has since claimed that Garcia has lost feeling in his arms due to the attack. Ibou of WrestlePurists reported that Garcia was written off TV in a way that protects AEW in case he doesn’t return and sign a new deal.

Dave Meltzer mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that Garcia had not signed a new deal with AEW as of earlier this month. Bryan Alvarez also confirmed WrestlePurists’ report. It’s worth noting that WWE was interested in Garcia in 2021, but he chose to join AEW instead.
