During an interview on The Gorilla Position, Bryan Danielson discussed what kind of hats he plans to wear in the company after his full-time retirement from the ring later this year.
Danielson plans to work a part-time basis going forward after his retirement.
“So I don’t know, because I don’t know what that looks like,” Bryan Danielson admitted. “So like kind of how it looks now is I help with creative a little bit. And what that usually looks like is it’s not necessarily a formal creative meeting or anything like that. Tony [Khan] will call me and run some ideas past me, or he’ll say, like, ‘Hey, I was thinking of this. Do you have any ideas for this or something like that?’
“But that’s haphazard. It could happen three times in a week. It could not happen at all for three weeks, right? That sort of thing. So I don’t really know what that part of it will look like. I think it’s just going to kind of have to evolve naturally with whatever my comfort level is, and their comfort level is because, honestly, I don’t want to travel very much.
“So that’s another piece of the wrestling puzzle, as far as physically. I mean, a lot of wrestlers will tell you that sometimes the travel hurts your body more than the actual wrestling. And so it’s like, it’s just the doing it all the time, and that sort of thing. So we’re just gonna have to find some sort of compromise as far as what they would like me to do, and what I would be willing to do, and if it turns out to not be anything, that’s okay too.
“And if it turns out to be something where it’s just like, I’ll always be available on the phone if Tony just wants to call me and run some ideas past me. I’m not going to give you a fee for that, like a lawyer, but that’s not a bad gig, right?”
