On Tuesday, Pro Wrestling Illustrated announced that Cody Rhodes ranked #1 in the publication’s top 500 male wrestlers list for 2024. Check out their announcement below:
“Congratulations to @WWE champion @CodyRhodes for ranking number one on this year’s #PWI500! See who else made the list—and read Cody’s thoughts on this milestone—in the latest issue of PWI.
EVALUATION PERIOD: August 1, 2023– July 31, 2024
PRIMARY CRITERIA:
IN-RING ACHIEVEMENT—W-L records, championships, tournaments won.
INFLUENCE—Visibility and prestige within a promotion and/or the industry.
TECHNICAL ABILITY—Quality of moves, matches, and in-ring storytelling.
COMPETITION—Success against the most varied and highest quality opponents.
ACTIVITY—Minimum 10 singles (non-tag) matches total; or, barring this, six such matches in separate months.
NOTE: This list prioritizes success in singles competition and in vying for heavyweight singles accolades (and, to a lesser extent, those in lower weight classes).”
