Keith Lee had initially been set to face Swerve Strickland at AEW Worlds End in December 2023, but the match was canceled due to Lee not being medically cleared.
Lee later revealed he needed to undergo two surgeries. Fightful Select reported that Lee has still not been medically cleared and there is no return timetable for him.
Lee issued the following statement:
I certainly don't see them all, but I have seen many. I must take the time to say thank you.
And I must take the time to tell you…. we are not done. Hang in there, just like I am. Whatever it is…. the time will come. Let's move forward.
