Jax Dane’s Last NWA Match to Air On NWA Powerrr Tonight

The NWA announced the following:

Jax Dane’s Last National Wrestling Alliance Match Before Passing AIRS Tuesday on ‘NWA Powerrr’

The Jan. 21 episode of NWA Powerrr includes the last filmed match of Jax Dane. A former NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion, Dane passed away on Christmas Day 2024.

“This will be a very emotional broadcast for everyone viewing,” says NWA Chief Operating Officer Joe Galli.

“Jax Dane was such a cornerstone of the National Wrestling Alliance, a truly beloved figure among fans and in the locker room,” Galli continues. “This episode of NWA Powerrr is going to hit differently for all of us. It is an opportunity to come together and celebrate Jax’s career and last on-camera appearance with the National Wrestling Alliance.”

In its original context, Tuesday’s outing was a high-stakes tag team match with potential future title implications. Dane and partner Baron Von Storm face reigning NWA National Champion Mims and BLK Jeez.

Now, however, the match takes on new meaning. It stands as a reminder of just how beloved Dane was — and the special bond he shared with partner Storm.

“He was my brother,” said Storm at the time of the grappler’s passing.

“We had over 100 matches together and against each other,” shared the man who defeated Dane for “The Ten Pounds of Gold” just prior to the launch of the Lightning One Era. “I’ve never been hit harder by any opponent.”

The Dane/Storm tag match is only one of five big matches on this week’s edition of NWA’s weekly flagship. Tuesday’s NWA Powerrr also sees NWA World Heavyweight Champion Thom Latimer in non-title action.

On the broadcast, Colby Corino and Joe Ocasio face “Magic” Jake Dumas and The Masked Zyon, and 2024 Crockett Cup winner Kerry Morton of The Southern Six is in singles action. Plus, fans hear from former World Champion EC3!

The hardest-hitting women in pro wrestling round out the episode. Natalia Markova and “Lo Princesa” Tiffany Nieves continue their ongoing, bitter rivalry in the main event.

New episodes of NWA Powerrr stream worldwide every Tuesday. Global audiences can tune in to the history, legacy, and tradition of NWA Powerrr on NWA’s X (formerly Twitter) account at 6:05 PM EST.
