AEW has recently released several wrestlers, including Ricky Starks, Malakai Black, Miro, and Bear Boulder.

Black’s contract expired, while Miro and Starks requested their releases. Rey Fenix, who also desires to leave AEW, had time added to his existing contract due to injury-related absences. This extension is believed to be approximately one year, after which he is expected to join Penta El Zero M in WWE as the Lucha Bros.

Sean Ross Sapp reported on the NXT post-show that Fenix was initially considered for release but ultimately remained with AEW.
