When Did AEW Decide To Have Christian Cage Cash In At AEW Revolution?

AEW

Christian Cage, after multiple failed attempts, successfully cashed in his Casino Gauntlet contract during the AEW Revolution main event. He inserted himself into the World Title match between Jon Moxley and Cope, transforming it into a three-way contest. Despite his efforts, Moxley capitalized on the ensuing chaos, choking out Cage to retain the title.

The decision to position the Moxley vs. Cope match as the main event, and Moxley retaining, drew some fan criticism post-show. However, Fightful Select reports that the AEW World Title match was always intended to close the show and that the ending was pitched to Christian Cage earlier in the week. Cage earned the title opportunity by winning the Casino Gauntlet at All In 2024.
