In a recent interview with WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard, Jeff Jarrett, discussing his new role with Acclaim, was asked about his most frivolous post-success purchase. Jarrett recalled buying a “nice car” in the mid-80s after earning “good picture money,” a decision he quickly regretted. He humorously added that he “probably should’ve gotten the Gold package too.”
“With strong encouragement from my old man, God rest his soul, I bought [a car]. Now, I broke in in [1986]. And I started making ‘good picture money,’ if you will,” Jarrett explained. “I didn’t have a big house or none of this, [I was] living in a condo close to the airport. But I bought a Lincoln Town Car and, I am not kidding you, I regretted it, maybe driving it off the lot.
“I kid you not, and I had that sucker for two years. So, let me tell you this. I leased the ’88 Lincoln Town Car with a Gold package. [To which] my dad said, ‘Oh yeah, you need that…’ So yeah, that was dumb. But hey, we were all young once and do a lot of dumb things. But if that’s the dumbest thing I’ve done, which probably isn’t, [I’m doing OK],” Jeff Jarrett said.
