The following is a list of news, notes, and rumors from the pro wrestling world:
Wrestling Rumors
WrestleVotes reports that there’s growing frustration within WWE concerning the three-hour format of SmackDown, with sources citing “creative fatigue.” However, it’s anticipated that the show will return to its standard two-hour length after WrestleMania, likely sometime in June.
PWInsider has confirmed that Drew McIntyre required medical attention to remove a foreign object from his eye following the car incident with Damian Priest on last week’s SmackDown. While it was initially speculated to be glass, that was not the case.
Fightful Select reveals that TNA+’s subscriber count has doubled in the past year, attributing this increase largely to the efforts of their marketing team, who were recently let go.
Kevin Knight, who recently signed with AEW, was invited to a tryout at the WWE Performance Center several weeks ago, according to Insider. He ultimately chose to sign with AEW.
Fightful also reports that NJPW wanted to retain Knight when his contract expired in January. However, it was widely expected that he would pursue opportunities in the United States. AEW’s financial offer proved to be the most attractive.
