Former AEW Star Retires

Former AEW star Fuego del Sol seemingly announced his retirement after a “Mask vs. Career” match at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 9.

Despite the stipulation, there appeared to be more at stake as Fuego lost to Atticus Cogar.

Following the match, an emotional Fuego removed his mask, which he had worn for a decade, and then symbolically left his wrestling boots in the ring. In a post-show social media message, he conveyed his gratitude to fans, stating, “11 Years… Ups. Downs. Everything in between. I’ve been selfish and doing this for me. Now it’s time to focus on my family and feeding them. I left everything I had left in the ring…including my boots. From the bottom of my heart… Thank you all for everything. Fuego is Done.”

His AEW tenure spanned from 2020 to 2023, with a brief return in 2024.
