All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is collaborating to present two upcoming tribute shows dedicated to the memory of Dean Rasmussen, the founder of the DVDVR website, who passed away in 2023.
During an announcement on the “Way of the Blade” podcast, AEW President Tony Khan and podcast host Phil Schneider detailed these co-produced events. Khan confirmed that AEW talent will participate in both shows, with the current plan being to stream them on Ring of Honor’s (ROH) official YouTube channel.
The first of these events, titled “DEAN~! 2,” is scheduled for May 24th, the night before AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view. This event will be a free outdoor show held outside Scottsdale Arena. The second tribute, “DEAN~! 3,” will take place in September and will be associated with ROH’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view, which has been announced for September 5th.
Several talents have already been announced for these shows, including Gringo Loco and Mad Dog Connelly, both of whom were involved in the inaugural tribute event.
The first tribute show, “ACTION DEAN~!,” was held in April 2024. The main event saw Daniel Makabe defeat Timothy Thatcher. Other wrestlers who appeared on that show included Violence is Forever, One Called Manders, Tom Lawlor, Warhorse, Slim J, and Timothy Thatcher. These upcoming shows will continue to honor Dean Rasmussen’s contributions to the wrestling community.
