In a recent interview with the Daily Star, Bryan Danielson provided insight into his current involvement with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), clarifying his role beyond that of an active in-ring competitor. While Danielson’s wrestling future remains a topic of speculation following his recent injury, he shed light on his contributions behind the scenes.
When asked about his current role and level of creative input, Danielson explained, “I’m just kind of a consultant for AEW now, but y’know, I do several things there. I’m part of the disciplinary committee like those sort of things. People may think it’s creative, some of it is. But it’s very little.” This statement indicates that while he holds a consulting position and participates in certain administrative aspects like the disciplinary committee, his direct involvement in the creative direction of AEW storylines is minimal.
To further illustrate his limited creative input, Danielson referenced a recent well-received AEW event. “Like we had that awesome Spring Breakthrough show — which had that incredible Ospreay/Takeshita match, the Opps winning the Trios Titles, and this incredible show. I didn’t have a single thing to do with that show (laughs).” This candid admission underscores that despite his vast experience and respected perspective within the professional wrestling industry, Danielson’s current contributions to AEW primarily lie outside the realm of crafting storylines and matches, focusing instead on advisory and administrative capacities. His role as a consultant allows AEW to leverage his expertise while he navigates his recovery and potential future in the wrestling world.
