Wrestler Comments on AEW Departure: “Never Meant To Sit”

Following reports confirmed by Fightful Select that his contract with All Elite Wrestling had expired, making him a free agent, EJ Nduka took to social media to comment on his departure and future.

Nduka, who primarily appeared on AEW’s Ring of Honor brand teaming with Lee Johnson, made it clear he felt underutilized. In a fiery post on X (formerly Twitter), he stated, “I was never meant to sit. Benches were made for the unsure. I’ve heard the call now it’s time to move. If you think this guy was made to ride the bench you need to call the 1800 number cause you suffer from mesothelioma you pencil neck reject.”

He followed up with another post suggesting frustration with his previous situation: “Some people don’t know what to do with Gold even if you hand it to them.”

In a third post seemingly referencing Chick-fil-A’s lemonade, Nduka also included a potential hint about his next destination, asking, “…what’s better than 3 ropes?! 4️⃣—-” The “4 ropes” is widely interpreted as a reference to a WWE ring, which famously has four ropes compared to the three used by most other promotions, including AEW and ROH.

The former WWE NXT and MLW talent is now officially available on the open market.
