WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash remains adamant that the decision to end The Undertaker’s legendary WrestleMania undefeated streak was a significant error by the company.
Speaking on a 2024 episode of his “Kliq This” podcast, Nash didn’t mince words about the historic moment when Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30.
“The only thing that this company has done that I am absolutely, 100% sure should have never happened was, you never should’ve beaten Undertaker at WrestleMania,” Nash stated emphatically.
He argued that the streak itself was an invaluable asset that offered more long-term storytelling potential than any single victory over The Undertaker could provide.
“That streak, there was no upside to ever doing anything with that, because every WrestleMania you have, going forward, you had a 10-minute package about that streak, and that was something that was special,” Nash explained. “There was no reason to beat Mark [Calaway].”
Nash believes preserving the mystique and drawing power of the undefeated streak outweighed any benefit gained from having someone conquer it.
