Anthony Bowens Withdraws From 2026 AEW Event For Significant Personal Reason

AEW

AEW star Anthony Bowens of The Acclaimed has announced his withdrawal from a specific AEW event scheduled well in advance for May 2026. Bowens took to social media to explain his decision, citing a deeply personal and understandable reason: it coincides with his wedding.

The event in question is an AEW house show slated for May 9, 2026, at the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, New Jersey. Bowens, making his priorities clear, stated he would not be available for this particular date.

In his post, Bowens humorously but firmly addressed any speculation: “To the surprise of NO ONE, I will not be at the May 9th, 2026 AEW event in Trenton, NJ (no matter how much I love NJ). That’s the day I’m getting married.” He added, “Everyone can take their fantasy booking and shove it lol. Anyway…EVERYONE LOVES THE ACCLAIMED.” This proactive announcement allows AEW ample time to adjust plans for the 2026 event, while fans have applauded Bowens for prioritizing his upcoming marriage to his partner, Michael Pavano.
