Former WWE Star Wrestles On AEW Dynamite

The surprises continued on the May 7, 2025, episode of AEW Dynamite as legendary ECW original Rhino made his unexpected debut. “The Man Beast” emerged to answer an open challenge from Nick Wayne for the ROH World Television Championship.

Making his first appearance in an AEW ring, the veteran powerhouse brought his trademark intensity against the youthful champion. Despite the buzz surrounding his arrival, Rhino’s debut match ended in defeat.

Nick Wayne, representing The Patriarchy alongside Christian Cage, managed to counter Rhino’s offense and secure a relatively quick victory. Wayne utilized Christian Cage’s signature maneuver, the Killswitch, to pin Rhino and retain his ROH World Television Title.

While a disappointing outcome for his debut, Rhino joins the ranks of fellow ECW icons like Rob Van Dam, Sabu, and Raven who have appeared for AEW over the years. His appearance adds another respected veteran name to the company’s history, even as Nick Wayne notches another successful title defense, continuing to build his momentum under Cage’s tutelage.
