NJPW Resurgence Sees Title Changes, ZSJ Challenge, Bullet Club Action

NJPW Resurgence, held on May 9, 2025, in Ontario, California, delivered an eventful night featuring championship matches and significant faction developments. Key among the outcomes was the crowning of new NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions, as Royce Isaacs & Jorel Nelson were defeated by the challenging team of Templario & TJP.

In one of the night’s marquee bouts, Zack Sabre Jr. unsuccessfully challenged Hirooki Goto for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Despite a valiant effort from the submission master, Goto retained his title.

Bullet Club was heavily involved throughout the evening. In a major eight-man tag team attraction, Bullet Club War Dogs (Gabe Kidd, David Finlay, Clark Connors & Gedo) fell in defeat to the reuniting forces of The Young Bucks and the recently free agents, The Good Brothers (Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson), who made their NJPW return. Other Bullet Club interactions and potential seeds for future conflicts were also noted during the event. The show highlighted shifts in the NJPW STRONG landscape and set the stage for future IWGP World Heavyweight Title contentions.
