Mercedes Mone Heaps Praise On AEW Women’s Champ Toni Storm Ahead Of Potential Clash

AEW

AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné has expressed significant admiration for current AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm, even as the two appear to be on a collision course for a major title match later this year. Speaking with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Moné lauded Storm as one of the world’s best.

A potential championship showdown between Moné and Storm at All In: Texas in July 2025 hinges on Moné winning the ongoing Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, where she is set to face Jamie Hayter in the finals at Double or Nothing on May 25th.

“I am blown away by her work,” Moné said of Storm. “Before I even thought about signing with AEW, I was watching Toni weeks upon weeks, and I was so captivated by her charisma, character, and presence.”

Moné’s praise was unequivocal: “I think she is not only one of the best women, (she is) one of the best talents in the whole world. I’ve never seen a woman captivate a character so on demand like she does.” Despite her respect, Moné concluded with a champion’s competitive spirit: “She brings so much to AEW, and I can’t wait to take that all away from her [laughs].”
