Tay Melo is set to make her return to the wrestling ring tonight on the AEW Dynamite: Summer Blockbuster special, and she admits to having some serious nerves.
Melo has been away from in-ring competition for over two years, during which time she gave birth to her first child with her husband and fellow AEW star, Sammy Guevara. She will team with her long-time partner, Anna Jay, to take on the duo of Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford.
A Return Two Years In The Making
In a post on her social media accounts ahead of tonight’s show, Melo shared her feelings about her long-awaited return to live television.
“My stomach’s doing flips—feels like first day of school nerves! Still on my last flight (been traveling since 5am),” she wrote. “Almost there… After more than 2 long years, I’m finally wrestling live on TV again. Butterflies and all, I can’t wait!”
A New Chapter
Melo’s journey back to the ring has been a significant personal and professional milestone. Her return marks a new chapter in her career as she re-enters AEW’s competitive women’s division.
Her partnership with Anna Jay was a staple of AEW programming before her hiatus. Fans will be eager to see if they can pick up right where they left off against the formidable team of Bayne and Ford.
