Buddy Matthews States Recovery Not Going As Expected

AEW

Buddy Matthews provided an update on the ankle injury he suffered in February during a match against Kazuchika Okada at AEW Grand Slam: Australia.

Matthews, who sustained a partial ligament tear and cartilage damage, has been out of action since the event. On a recent Instagram livestream, he stated that his recovery has been slower than anticipated.

“The ankle is not recovering as well as I thought it would be,” Matthews said. “There’s no mobility to it, if I can’t have mobility, I can’t move properly. Once it hits 3 months without healing, it becomes chronic… I thought I’d be back in the ring in April”
