Adam Copeland made his shocking return at AEW All In: Texas, coming to the aid of his long-time friend Christian Cage after a chaotic AEW World Tag Team Championship match and a stunning betrayal.
The match saw The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) retain their championships in a three-way bout against JetSpeed (Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight) and The Patriarchy (Christian Cage & Nick Wayne). The finish came after FTR appeared, distracting Christian Cage and allowing Bobby Lashley to hit a Spear for the pinfall victory.
After the match, as Cage was recovering, he was suddenly attacked by his protégé, Nick Wayne. With his mother, Shayna Wayne, laughing at ringside, Nick and Kip Sabian delivered a brutal beatdown to Cage. After Shayna slapped Christian, they set him up for a con-chair-to.
Before they could strike, Adam Copeland’s music hit to a massive reaction from the crowd at Globe Life Field. Copeland sprinted to the ring and single-handedly took out Wayne, Sabian, and FTR, clearing the ring of all the heels.
In the most dramatic moment of the night, Copeland approached the fallen Christian Cage and helped him to his feet. Instead of a reunion hug, Copeland looked at him and said, “Go find yourself,” before exiting the ring. The show of tough love left Christian alone and emotionally shaken.
.@RatedRCope has left @Christian4Peeps with A LOT to think about!
