The AEW All In: Texas pay-per-view kicked off with the AEW World Trios Championships on the line as Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata defended their titles against the Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta, who teamed with NJPW’s Gabe Kidd.
The hard-hitting match saw both teams trade control, with long stretches of domination. Early on, the champions isolated Wheeler Yuta, working him over with powerful strikes and suplexes. A hot tag to Claudio Castagnoli shifted the momentum, as he neutralized Powerhouse Hobbs by hitting a giant swing into the ringside barricade.
Late in the match, Gabe Kidd and Katsuyori Shibata had an intense standoff, trading brutal chops and headbutts. The finish came when Samoa Joe caught Wheeler Yuta on the top rope and delivered a Muscle Buster for the pinfall victory, retaining the championships for his team.
After the match, Claudio Castagnoli viciously attacked Samoa Joe. He wrapped a steel chair around Joe’s leg and stomped on it, leaving the champion injured in the ring. Medical personnel attended to Joe, who was stretchered out of the arena.
Was this the plan all along?!
