Athena has earned a future opportunity at the AEW Women’s World Championship by winning the Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match at AEW All In: Texas.
The former ROH Women’s World Champion was a late entrant into the bout but made an immediate and dominant impact, laying out multiple competitors. The match also featured the surprise AEW debut of Japanese wrestling star Syuri, who had a brief confrontation with Athena.
After a chaotic battle involving other participants such as Thunder Rosa, Willow Nightingale, Kris Statlander, and Queen Aminata, the match came down to a final few. Athena ultimately secured the victory by pinning Mina Shirakawa after hitting her finisher. The win puts one of the most dominant champions in Ring of Honor history directly in line for AEW’s top women’s title.
