Tony Khan Says Hangman Page Was “Always The Guy” To Dethrone Jon Moxley

Following “Hangman” Adam Page’s victory over Jon Moxley at AEW All In, Tony Khan revealed that Page winning the AEW World Championship was part of a long-term plan. In an interview with Q101, Khan was asked how long he knew Page would be the one to end Moxley’s reign.

“A long time ago. A long time ago,” Khan said. “Certainly for a long time, All In has been building to be the culmination of everything that’s happened in the past year… Jon Moxley reigned with the championship for about nine months. Across pro wrestling, Jon Moxley was absolutely a dominant world champion.”

Khan acknowledged that some things, like Jay White’s injury, changed the flow of storylines along the way, but the final destination remained the same. “But certainly Hangman Page… Hangman was always the guy.”
