AEW Announces Worlds End PPV for Chicago in December

All Elite Wrestling has officially announced the date and location for its final pay-per-view of the year. During an appearance on Chicago’s Q101, AEW President Tony Khan revealed that the 2025 edition of AEW Worlds End will take place on Saturday, December 27, from the NOW Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The event will feature the highly-anticipated finals of the annual Continental Classic tournament.

Tony Khan Brings a Major Event to AEW’s Spiritual Home

In his interview, Tony Khan expressed his excitement about bringing the holiday season pay-per-view to the Chicagoland area for the first time. The NOW Arena (formerly the Sears Centre) holds a special place in AEW history, as it was the site of the All In event in 2018, the precursor to the formation of AEW, as well as several other major shows since the company’s inception.

“We’ve had such a great run of AEW TV these past few weeks…we’ve had so many great pay-per-view shows here over the years,” Khan said. “I thought it would be great for the first time ever, this holiday season, to bring AEW Worlds End to the Chicagoland area at least…I’m very excited to announce December 27th, for the first time ever, Worlds End is coming to Chicago. We’re going to have a great event. It’s going to be a great way to spend the holiday weekend. Saturday, December 27th, for the first time ever, AEW Worlds End at the NOW Arena, where it all began for us.“

The Continental Classic Returns

A major focal point of the Worlds End event will be the conclusion of the Continental Classic. The round-robin tournament, which typically begins in November, has quickly become one of AEW’s most prestigious traditions. It features a lineup of the company’s top stars competing in hard-hitting matches under a points system, with the two league winners advancing to the finals at the pay-per-view. The winner of the tournament is crowned the new ROH World Champion and NJPW Strong Openweight Champion, in addition to holding the AEW Continental Championship, earning the title of the modern Triple Crown Champion. The tournament is known for producing some of the best in-ring action of the year, and its finals will serve as a fitting main event for the company’s year-end show.

A Stacked Year for AEW Pay-Per-Views

The announcement of Worlds End rounds out what has been a busy and successful pay-per-view calendar for AEW in 2025. The company has continued to expand its major event schedule, providing fans with marquee shows nearly every month. The return to the NOW Arena for Worlds End is a nod to the company’s history and its dedicated fanbase in Chicago. Tickets for the event are scheduled to go on sale on Friday, September 8, at 10 AM CT, and are expected to be in high demand.

The final AEW pay-per-view of the year promises to be a significant one, not only crowning the winner of the grueling Continental Classic but also setting the stage for the company’s major storylines heading into 2026.
