Jade Cargill Says WWE Women’s Locker Room Greeted Her with “Love”

Jade Cargill has shut down any speculation that she was met with animosity in the WWE women’s locker room when she arrived from AEW. In a recent interview, the powerhouse star stated that she was welcomed with “love” and that her fellow superstars were eager to work with her and help her get better. Her comments paint a picture of a supportive and professional environment, countering the often-speculated narrative of a tense or difficult transition.

Jade Cargill on Being Welcomed to the Locker Room

Since signing with WWE in 2023 after making her name as the inaugural and longest-reigning TBS Champion in AEW, Jade Cargill has been a major topic of discussion. During an appearance on the 520 Club podcast in the lead-up to SummerSlam, she was asked about the reaction she received from the established WWE women’s roster when she first arrived.

“It was love,” Cargill said (per Fightful). “They wanted to work with me. They know that. They knew that I came here to get better, and they knew that I came here to be a legend, like there’s nothing else. There’s no other place I’m going to become a legend.”

Her statement directly addresses the idea that she might have been seen as an outsider or met with jealousy, instead describing a welcoming atmosphere.

A Shared Goal to Elevate the Division

Jade Cargill further explained that the women in the WWE locker room have a shared goal of elevating the entire division. She believes that her colleagues saw her arrival not as a threat, but as an opportunity to add another high-level talent to the roster, which in turn creates more opportunities for everyone. She feels that the other women want to help her succeed because her success is beneficial for the entire locker room.

“They want to help as much as they can because they want to do nothing but elevate the locker room,” she continued.

These comments stand in interesting contrast to other recent remarks from Cargill, where she spoke about the difficulty of adjusting to the political nature of the WWE backstage environment and breaking into the established social circles of talent who came up through NXT together. Her latest comments suggest that while navigating the social dynamics may have been a challenge, the professional environment in the locker room has been positive and focused on the work.

A Big Test at SummerSlam

Jade Cargill’s journey in WWE reached a major milestone this past weekend at SummerSlam. On Night One of the premium live event, she challenged Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship. While she ultimately came up short in her first singles title opportunity on the main roster, the match was a huge moment for her career and a sign of the company’s faith in her as a future top star. The support she has received from her peers in the locker room has undoubtedly played a role in her rapid development and her comfort level in performing on such a grand stage.

Despite her loss at SummerSlam, the future remains incredibly bright for Jade Cargill. Her unique combination of look, power, and charisma makes her a can’t-miss attraction. With the support of the women’s locker room behind her, she will undoubtedly continue her quest to become the “legend” she knows she is destined to be.
