AEW Business Update: Strong “All In Texas” Buys, Mixed Ticket Sales

A new report has provided an update on the business health of All Elite Wrestling, and the numbers for the company’s recent “All In Texas” pay-per-view are very strong. The event is estimated to be one of the top four most-purchased pay-per-views in the company’s history. The report also sheds light on advance ticket sales for AEW’s upcoming live events, painting a picture that is largely positive, but with some points of concern.

AEW Business Thriving with Strong “All In Texas” Pay-Per-View Buys

According to a new report on AEW’s business metrics, the estimated pay-per-view buys for the “All In Texas” event from this past July are in the range of 180,000 to 185,000. This impressive number would make it the fourth best-selling pay-per-view in the six-year history of All Elite Wrestling. The only events to have reportedly outperformed it were three of the most historically significant shows the company has ever produced. The top three are believed to be All Out 2021, which was headlined by the in-ring debut of CM Punk against Darby Allin; All In 2023, the company’s record-breaking first show at Wembley Stadium in London; and Revolution 2024, which featured the emotional and highly anticipated retirement match of the legendary Sting. For “All In Texas,” which was headlined by Hangman Page defeating Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship, to be in the same conversation as those monumental events is a clear sign that the current creative direction is resonating strongly with the paying audience.

A Look at Upcoming Live Event Ticket Sales

The report also provided a detailed look at the advance ticket sales for AEW’s upcoming live events for the rest of the summer and into the fall. The numbers for the weekly Dynamite and Collision television tapings are generally solid. The upcoming taping in Glasgow, Scotland, on August 20 has a very strong advance of 5,805 tickets sold. Several of the upcoming domestic shows are being held in the historic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, and with a smaller capacity of 916, those shows are all expected to sell out. The August 27 episode of Dynamite from the venue is already sold out, and the ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on August 29 is also nearing a sellout with 790 tickets sold. Other upcoming television tapings through September are showing consistent and healthy advances in the 800-1,700 range.

A Mixed Bag for Future Pay-Per-Views

While the television taping numbers look solid, the advance sales for the next two major pay-per-view events present a more mixed picture. The upcoming All Out pay-per-view, which is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is looking very strong, with 8,833 tickets already sold for the event. Toronto has historically been an excellent market for AEW, and this strong advance continues that trend. However, the advance for the WrestleDream pay-per-view on October 18 in St. Louis, Missouri, is reportedly a point of concern. The event has currently sold 2,695 tickets, which is described in the report as a “bad number” for a pay-per-view, even with over two months to go. This suggests that while the company is thriving in its established strongholds, there is still work to be done in building excitement in other markets.

This latest snapshot of AEW’s business paints a picture of a company in a healthy but complex position. The strong buyrate for “All In Texas” proves that when the creative is firing on all cylinders, the audience is willing to pay for the product. The solid advances for most of the upcoming television tapings and the All Out pay-per-view in a strong market like Toronto are also positive signs. However, the sluggish start for WrestleDream tickets indicates that the company still faces challenges in certain markets. Overall, the report suggests that while there is room for growth, AEW’s core business remains robust as it heads into a busy fall schedule.
