Absent AEW Star Returns At Forbidden Door

AEW

Kazuchika Okada has retained the AEW Unified Championship, but his victory over Swerve Strickland at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door was overshadowed by the shocking return of Wardlow.

The championship match saw Okada relentlessly target the pre-existing knee injury of Swerve Strickland. Okada used a variety of punishing moves, including a DDT on the steel steps and a knee breaker on the top turnbuckle, to wear down his challenger. He ultimately secured the victory after hitting the Rainmaker.

After the match, Okada continued his assault, trapping Swerve’s injured leg between the ring post and the steel steps and attacking it with a chair. Swerve’s manager, Prince Nana, ran down to ringside to intervene.

As Nana checked on Swerve, Wardlow made his surprise return to AEW. Wardlow then viciously attacked Prince Nana, laying him out at ringside as an injured Swerve Strickland was trapped and forced to watch.
