Kenny Omega has responded to a recent report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that raised concern over his health status. The report noted that with several top stars injured, AEW’s high level of match quality could be difficult to sustain, specifically mentioning that Omega was “battling very serious pain.” The comment caused a stir among fans, especially given Omega’s long layoff in 2024 due to a severe bout of diverticulitis. He made his return to the ring at the start of 2025 and has maintained a full schedule, including a grueling Lights Out Steel Cage match at this past weekend’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
Omega took to social media on Saturday afternoon to address the report and reassure fans that he will be ready for his upcoming matches, downplaying the severity of the claim.
“Everybody is in some way, right? Let’s not worry about me, we got work to do next week! I’ll be fine.”
This coming Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, Omega is scheduled to team with the new AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page and the tag team of JetSpeed (“Speedball” Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight). They will face the formidable eight-man team of The Young Bucks and The Don Callis Family’s Kyle Fletcher and Josh Alexander. The match is set to be a major main event for the program, and Omega’s message indicates he has every intention of competing as planned.
