Sammy Guevara had an eventful and transformative night at ROH Death Before Dishonor, culminating in a shocking heel turn and a new championship reign. Earlier in the show, Guevara teamed with The Von Erichs (Marshall & Ross Von Erich) in a losing effort for the vacant ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships against Shane Taylor Promotions. Later in the night, Guevara revealed he had a new partner, Rush, to challenge The Outrunners for the vacant ROH World Tag Team Championships. Guevara and Rush were victorious, with Guevara hitting a swanton bomb to secure the win and the championships.
The true surprise came after the match. As Dralistico came out to celebrate with his La Faccion Ingobernable stablemate Rush, The Von Erichs also came to the ring to question Guevara. After a moment of feigned peacemaking, Guevara turned on the brothers, attacking them and officially aligning himself with Rush and LFI. The group then beat down The Von Erichs to a chorus of boos from the Philadelphia crowd. The turn marks a significant character shift for Guevara, whose previous partner, Dustin Rhodes, is currently out with an injury. This new alliance with LFI immediately establishes them as a dominant and villainous force in Ring of Honor.
