AEW World Trios Champion Powerhouse Hobbs recently sat down with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp for an interview during the AEW All In Texas weekend. The dominant member of The Opps faction discussed his current physical and mental state, as well as his journey to becoming a champion in All Elite Wrestling. Hobbs, who has been a consistent presence on AEW television, expressed that he is currently at the top of his game in every aspect of his career. His confidence is backed by a successful run as one-third of the Trios Champions, a role he stepped into earlier this year. He has become a cornerstone of the trios division alongside his partners, Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata, and their reign has been a dominant one.
When asked about how he’s feeling, Hobbs was direct and confident.
“I’m good. Physically, I’m in the best shape of my life. Mentally, I’m great.”
He also reflected on how he came to be a part of the championship-winning team, which happened after he was chosen to fill in for an injured HOOK. The opportunity was an unexpected one, but Hobbs emphasized the importance of being prepared for any situation in the wrestling business.
“I’ve learned in this business, you just need to be ready on the drop of a dime. We know this wasn’t really supposed to happen. I filled in for my little brother HOOK. Things happen.”
Since winning the titles in April, The Opps have been a formidable force. They recently defended their championships successfully against the team of Ricochet and The Gates of Agony on an episode of AEW Dynamite, further solidifying their place at the top of the division.
