Kenny Omega Stretchered Out Of Arena After Attack On AEW Dynamite

The September 3 episode of AEW Dynamite from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia ended with a violent assault that left Kenny Omega being stretchered out of the building. The attack occurred after the massive eight-man tag team main event, which saw The Young Bucks and The Don Callis Family’s Kyle Fletcher and Josh Alexander defeat the team of AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page, Kenny Omega, and JetSpeed. The victory for the heel faction was only the beginning of the chaos, as they continued their assault after the bell.

Kyle Fletcher first laid out “Hangman” Page with a brainbuster onto a steel chair. As Fletcher prepared to inflict more damage on the world champion, Kenny Omega sacrificed himself, throwing his body over Page to protect him. This act of heroism made Omega the new target of the Don Callis Family. Fletcher then brutally attacked Omega, delivering a brainbuster from the ring apron through a table on the arena floor.

The devastating move left Omega motionless, and the show went off the air with medical personnel carefully loading him onto a stretcher and taking him to the back. This angle is likely a way to write Omega off of television, as it has been recently reported that he is taking time off to deal with lingering health issues.
