The championship pictures for TNA’s next two major events, Victory Road and Bound For Glory, have become much clearer following this week’s episode of iMPACT. On Thursday night, TNA officially announced the World Championship main event for its biggest show of the year, Bound For Glory, which takes place on Sunday, October 12, in Lowell, Massachusetts. Current TNA World Champion Trick Williams is now set to defend his championship against Mike Santana in what is expected to be a highly personal and intense encounter. The match was made official by Director of Authority Santino Marella.
The TNA Knockouts World Championship situation has also been clarified with matches set for both pay-per-views. At the Victory Road TNA Plus special on Friday, September 26, Ash by Elegance will defend her Knockouts World Championship against former champion Masha Slamovich. The winner of that match will then go on to defend the championship at Bound For Glory against the new number one contender, Indi Hartwell. Hartwell earned her championship opportunity by winning a triple threat match against Jody Threat and Dani Luna on this week’s live episode of iMPACT. This sets up a high-stakes scenario where the champion at TNA’s biggest show will be determined just weeks before the event.
