The viewership numbers for the Wednesday, September 3 episode of AEW Dynamite have been released, and the show experienced a significant drop, hitting a historic low for its regular time slot. The episode, which was the second show in AEW’s residency at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, averaged 472,000 viewers on TBS.
This represents a 19.3 percent decrease from the previous week and is the lowest total audience the show has ever drawn on a Wednesday night. The only time the show has drawn a lower viewership number was on October 8, 2024, when the episode was moved to a Tuesday night and ran head-to-head with WWE NXT.
The news was also concerning in the key 18-49 demographic, where Dynamite drew a 0.11 rating. This is a 15.4 percent decline from last week and is the second-lowest rating in the show’s history, regardless of the day or time slot.
According to Wrestlenomics, the show finished approximately seventh on cable for the night. Compared to the same week in 2024, Dynamite’s viewership was down 28.5 percent, and its key demographic rating was down 42.1 percent. These numbers do not include the additional audience that watched the program on the Max streaming simulcast. The show was also down significantly from its recent 10-week averages in both total viewership and the key demographic.
