Konnan Believes The Don Callis Family Is Becoming Too Much Like The nWo

AEW

WCW and Lucha Libre legend Konnan has shared his critique of the current state of the Don Callis Family faction in All Elite Wrestling, suggesting that the group has grown too large and is losing its focus and chemistry. The stable has expanded significantly in 2025, adding major names like Kazuchika Okada, Josh Alexander, and the recently returned Wardlow to its ranks, which already included Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher, Lance Archer, Rocky Romero, and Hechicero. With eleven members now part of the group, Konnan believes it is becoming bloated and compared it to infamous factions of the past that suffered from a similar issue.

Speaking on his “Keepin It 100” podcast, the former nWo member explained why he feels the group is becoming unwieldy and is struggling to highlight its individual stars.

“I just think they have too many guys in the family. You got Wardlow, Rocky Romero, Lance Archer, Takeshita, the Australian guy [Kyle Fletcher], Josh Alexander. Hechicero, what’s he even doing there?”

He then drew a direct comparison to two of wrestling’s most notorious examples of oversized factions, the Dungeon of Doom and the later years of the New World Order in WCW.

“They almost remind me of the Dungeon of Doom, like let’s just get a whole bunch of guys that mean nothing, have no chemistry, have no real backstory together, and just throw them in there. Or almost like when the NWO had like 80 guys in it. Just too many people in the family to keep track of and you can’t really focus on one or two guys because you have too many in the group.”

The most recent addition to the Don Callis Family was Wardlow, who made his surprise return at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, where he attacked Swerve Strickland and aligned himself with the group.
