AEW star and wrestling legend Bryan Danielson recently shared his admiration for the wrestling talent coming out of Australia, expressing a deep curiosity about the systems in place that are producing such high-level performers. During a recent interview with SENQ 693, “The American Dragon” spoke about the impressive contingent of Australian wrestlers currently on the All Elite Wrestling roster and his desire to understand how to continue to foster that pipeline of talent for the future. His comments highlight the global nature of the modern wrestling scene and the increasing influence of international stars on major American promotions. Danielson, who is known for his deep knowledge and respect for the art of professional wrestling, is looking at the situation not just as a performer, but from an administrative and developmental perspective.
He specifically mentioned several of the Australian stars currently making an impact in AEW and expressed his desire to learn more about their training and development.
“I guess one of the things — it’s not shocking, I just wonder how it happens. How does it happen, where are they training at, where do they get the reps to get this good at all this stuff. It’s more of a curiosity in the sense of, okay, how do we build these systems so that this keeps happening, so that more and more Australian wrestlers keep coming up the pipeline like this. Toni Storm is one of the biggest draws we have in AEW, Kyle Fletcher is just incredible. Harley Cameron, I don’t know if you know this, she speaks Chinese! She does puppet stuff, she can play musical instruments, she can rap, she can do all of these different things. How are these people coming into the pipeline to where we can present them on our programming and how do we keep that happening. From an administrative perspective, that’s what you look at.”
It was recently announced by Tony Khan that Bryan Danielson will be joining the AEW Dynamite commentary team on a full-time basis, where his analytical mind and deep knowledge of the sport will be on full display.
