A new championship match has been added to the lineup for the upcoming All Out pay-per-view, but the participants will not be known until just days before the event. As announced on the September 10 edition of AEW Dynamite, a three-way match for the AEW Unified Championship will take place at the show in Toronto on September 20. To determine the three competitors in the high-stakes bout, a six-man tournament will be held across the next week of AEW programming on both Collision and Dynamite. The current AEW Unified Champion, Kazuchika Okada, will be forced to compete in the tournament, adding a layer of jeopardy to his championship reign.
The tournament will consist of three separate qualifying matches. The first two will take place on the September 13 episode of AEW Collision. In one bout, Konosuke Takeshita will face Anthony Bowens. In the other, in a shocking twist, Kazuchika Okada must defend his AEW Unified Championship against Michael Oku. The winner of that match will advance to the three-way at All Out, and if Oku wins, he will enter the pay-per-view as the new champion. The third and final qualifying match will take place on the September 17 “September to Remember” episode of AEW Dynamite, where The Beast Mortos will go one-on-one with Máscara Dorada. The winners of these three matches will then face off at All Out to determine the undisputed AEW Unified Champion.
The matchups for the tournament are listed below:
- Kazuchika Okada vs. Michael Oku (September 13 AEW Collision)
- Konosuke Takeshita vs. Anthony Bowens (September 13 AEW Collision)
