Lacey Lane, known to WWE fans as Kayden Carter, has made her debut for a Tony Khan-owned promotion. Lane appeared at the Ring of Honor television taping held on Wednesday, September 10, at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, competing in a match before the live AEW Dynamite broadcast began. This marks her first match in any promotion since her release from WWE in May of this year. While the result of her debut match was not immediately made public, her appearance is a significant development for the Ring of Honor women’s division, adding a seasoned and highly decorated tag team specialist to its ranks.
Lane was a part of the WWE system since 2018 and is best known for her long-term and successful partnership with Katana Chance (formerly Kacy Catanzaro). The duo was one of the most decorated teams in recent WWE history, holding the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships for an impressive 186 days in 2022 and 2023. They were later called up to the main roster, where they also captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, holding them for 39 days. In a recent interview, Lane stated that she felt she was being held back in WWE and was excited to showcase her “lucha strong style” in her post-WWE career. Her debut in Ring of Honor is the first step in that new chapter.
