Stephanie Vaquer has officially shut down any rumors that she is dealing with an injury. The number one contender for the vacant WWE Women’s World Championship addressed the speculation during an interview with Adrian Hernandez in Las Vegas. The questions arose after she was unexpectedly pulled from a scheduled contract signing segment with her WrestlePalooza opponent, Iyo Sky, on this past Monday’s episode of RAW. On that show, General Manager Adam Pearce told Sky that “something was up” with Vaquer and she was unable to be there, which led to reports of a potential minor injury. The situation created uncertainty around her upcoming championship match at the highly anticipated Premium Live Event.
During the interview, Vaquer was direct in her response, making it clear that she is healthy and ready for her scheduled matches.
“No, I saw social media. Sometimes, many things are not real. There’s no injuries. I’m ready for Raw next Monday, so no. No injury.”
Her statement contradicts a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, who stated he was told she had a “minor injury,” but it does align with a conflicting report from Bryan Alvarez on the same show, who believed she was not hurt. Regardless of the reason for her absence from RAW, Vaquer has confirmed she is ready to go. She is still scheduled to compete on this Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT and will face Iyo Sky for the vacant WWE Women’s World Championship at the WrestlePalooza event on Saturday, September 20.
