AEW star Kris Statlander recently shared her thoughts on the members of the Death Riders faction, specifically Wheeler Yuta and the group’s leader, Jon Moxley. The dominant heel group has been attempting to recruit various members of the AEW roster in recent months, and Statlander has often found herself in their orbit on television. Her comments provide a fascinating insight into her on-screen character’s perspective, as she draws a clear distinction between the abrasive approach of Wheeler Yuta and the respected veteran status of a former AEW World Champion like Jon Moxley.
During a recent interview with Fightful’s Grapsody podcast, Statlander was asked about her interactions with the faction and made it clear that she is not interested in what Wheeler Yuta has to say.
“Wheeler Yuta is not my responsibility. I don’t know how he’s getting access to everywhere that I am. He needs to be checked. However, one popular quote that is said a lot amongst wrestlers is that, a lot of people are going to give you advice, and you can pick and choose to your needs, what sticks with you. So in that sense, what Yuta’s saying, not my cup of tea.”
However, she took a much different and more respectful tone when discussing the group’s leader, Jon Moxley.
“But when a former World Champion, sort of the top guy in our company, is going out of his way to say a few kind words to you, I don’t know if it’s necessarily a bad thing or if it’s ill-advised to maybe listen to what a top guy has to say to you. So that’s all I will say on the matter.”
