A huge six-man tag team match has been officially announced for the sixth anniversary episode of AEW Dynamite, which is scheduled for Wednesday, October 1. In a major main event, the new AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page will team up with two members of The Opps faction, Samoa Joe and Powerhouse Hobbs. They will take on the formidable trio of Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Daniel Garcia of The Death Riders. The match is a direct result of the ongoing war between the two factions and the individual rivalries that have been building over the past several weeks. It promises to be a chaotic and hard-hitting encounter, befitting a major anniversary episode of Dynamite.
The match was made official during this week’s episode of Dynamite, setting the stage for what will be a significant and high-stakes main event for the special broadcast. This will be the first time that Page has teamed with Joe and Hobbs on television, creating a powerful new alliance to counter the Death Riders. The feud between Page and Moxley is far from over, despite their recent Texas Death Match at All Out. The match also continues the storyline between Kris Statlander and Wheeler Yuta. On this week’s Dynamite, Statlander convincingly turned down Yuta’s attempts to recruit her to The Death Riders, hitting him with a lariat before escaping through the crowd. In a direct retaliation, Statlander and Darby Allin will face Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir in a mixed tag team match on next week’s show.
