AEW star Anthony Bowens has a long list of dream opponents he wants to face in singles competition, including some of the biggest names in All Elite Wrestling. After recently embarking on a singles run following the split of The Acclaimed, Bowens is eager to prove himself as a top-tier individual performer. The former AEW World Tag Team Champion, who has been praised for his charisma and unique connection with the audience, is looking to challenge himself against the best in the world and elevate his career to the next level. His comments reveal a competitive drive and a clear vision for his future in AEW.
Speaking as a guest on Good Karma Wrestling, Bowens was asked about the opponents he would like to face in one-on-one competition. He reeled off a list of top names, including former world champions and technical specialists.
“Give me Kenny Omega. I want Cope, because I feel like he would take me to the next level in terms of storytelling perspective. Give me Kyle Fletcher again, because now, I’ve got his number. Same thing with Kazuchika Okada. Same thing with Konosuke Takeshita. I actually got to get my revenge on Ricochet, because he stabbed me in the head with my own scissors that he stole from me. There’s a whole lot of people that I know I can put on some pretty, pretty good matches with.”
Bowens recently reteamed with his former partner Max Caster on AEW Collision for a tag team match against Swirl (Lee Johnson & Blake Christian). Despite the win, Bowens stated in a post-match interview that he was not happy about reuniting with Caster, suggesting that their issues are far from over.
